Onamac Windery's Supreme Blend pickups aka "Supremes" pickup coils are very time consuming to produce and are hand crafted using processes unique to this set. Unlike other Onamac Windery single coil pickups that are wax potted while held in a vacuum, these are not. They receive a very light superficial potting using 100% pure paraffin wax.

Using a slow unorthodox winding method each coil is wound under high tension using complex layering resulting in exceptionally tight dense coils that don't require the added stabilization deep wax penetration provides and the result is a more open sounding pickup. As seen in the photos the magnet wire is laid in a random cross hatch manner, it's doubtful you'll see this type of random wound coil anywhere else. Pickup read about 5.8k, 6.0k, 10.2k using 42awg plain enamel on the neck & middle and 43awg plain enamel on the bridge pickup.

The use of our custom formulated alnico (somewhat similar in tone to alnico 3) magnets on the treble strings and degaussed, calibrated alnico 5 magnets for the wound strings combined with the labor intensive wire application produces a piano-like sparkle on the top end, light scoop in the middle, and a big yet still tight bottom end with excellent note separation and full rich harmonics this a widely versatile set that works well for most music styles.
